Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa launches winter and early spring packages to capture Okanagan staycation demand
[Summerland, BC] Following a strong 2025 marked by national recognition and sustained visitor demand, Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa is entering 2026 with a focused strategy to attract regional staycation travellers, from Kamloops to Osoyoos.
The resort has introduced a collection of winter and early spring packages aimed at driving midweek and shoulder season travel during the first quarter of 2026. The offers include extended stay rates, wellness-focused getaways, culinary experiences, ski and stay partnerships, and limited inventory experiential travel tied to the Grand Sommelier Express wine train.
The approach follows a year of strong performance for the resort, located right on the shores of Okanagan Lake. In December 2025, Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa ranked 37th in Canada out of more than 3,100 hotels on TripAdvisor, based on guest reviews and traveller ratings. The resort also continued to post high occupancy during peak summer months, supported by domestic travel demand across the Okanagan.

According to regional tourism reporting from Destination British Columbia and Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association, domestic travel has remained the primary driver of visitation in the Interior, with British Columbians increasingly choosing closer-to-home trips that offer flexibility, value, and shorter planning windows.
“Our focus for early 2026 is simple,” said the resort’s general manager Lisa Jaager. “Make it easy for people in the region to step away without the hassles of long-distance travel. We saw in 2025 that guests were looking for quality, space, and experiences that feel relaxing rather than rushed.”
Key packages in 2026 include extended stay discounts for weekly and monthly bookings from October through April, wellness escapes with on-site spa credits, a February-focused Valentine’s offer, and a spring promotion offering a third night free in April. The Apex Ski and Stay package continues through early April, pairing mountain access with accommodation that is off the main road, and on the lakefront.
The Grand Sommelier Express VIP Package, tied to the Summerland heritage steam train wine experience hosted by Bottleneck Drive, is already more than 50 per cent sold for June 2026. The package has sold out annually in previous years and is positioned as a limited inventory VIP experience, rather than a volume offer.
With 2025 serving as a benchmark year for guest satisfaction and regional visibility, the resort is positioning 2026 as a year of measured growth focused on domestic travellers, longer stays, and experience-led visitation.
