Savor Quality from Europe: A Holiday Message and a Look Ahead

Consorzio Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and APOT reflect on a successful 2025 in North America and share a first look at the 2026 “Savor Quality from Europe” events

[December 2025] As the holiday season arrives, the Consorzio Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and the Associazione Produttori Olivicoli Toscani (APOT) extend warm wishes to partners, journalists, educators, and friends across Canada and the United States.

This moment of togetherness and reflection offers an opportunity to look back at a meaningful year for Tuscan producers and to look ahead to an exciting new chapter in the Savor Quality from Europe campaign, co-funded by the European Union.

Looking Back with Gratitude

In 2025, winemakers and olive growers from Tuscany across North America as ambassadors of European Quality products, to introduce the elegance of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and the purity of Tuscan extra virgin olive oil to new audiences. From guided tastings to masterclasses to walk-around events, the producers saw firsthand how strongly North Americans connect with authenticity, sustainability, and origin.

The campaign’s first Canadian and U.S. activities created memorable exchanges between producers and professionals. Sommeliers, journalists, importers, and culinary leaders explored the stories and craftsmanship that define both denominations.

Attendees shared a curiosity for the new Pieve classification, now entering the market with the 2021 harvest, and expressed enthusiasm for European quality schemes such as PDO, PGI, DOC, and DOCG.

The Consorzio and APOT close the year with deep appreciation for the warm welcome from North American partners. The conversations and collaborations that began this year set the foundation for an even more engaging program in 2026.

A Taste of the Holidays in Tuscany

The holiday season in Tuscany is marked by generosity, shared meals, and a deep connection to the land. Families gather around tables filled with traditional dishes such as ribollita, roasted meats, and festive sweets like panforte from nearby Siena. Meals are often finished with a drizzle of the year’s new olive oil, bright and peppery, followed by a cherished glass of Vinsanto or Vino Nobile di Montepulciano poured with pride.

These Tuscan traditions are part of a broader European food and wine culture, where protected designations, shared values, and centuries-old know-how reflect the diversity and excellence of European quality products.

Winter landscapes in Montepulciano and the surrounding hills take on a golden softness, with olive groves resting and vineyards quietly preparing for the next season. It is a time of gratitude and renewal, values that the Consorzio and APOT hope to share with friends throughout North America during this festive season.

With this spirit, both organizations wish their Canadian and American partners a peaceful holiday filled with good food, good wine, and meaningful connection.
