TIME Family of Wines is getting ready to debut its new OROLO Restaurant + Cocktail Bar and Chronos Tasting Room in downtown Penticton
TIME Family of Wines’ Penticton location is gearing up to reveal its stunning new Chronos Tasting Room, as well as the launch of OROLO, a new restaurant and cocktail bar option for Penticton – both scheduled to open Spring 2023.
While the winter months are often the time for BC wineries to take a moment to breathe, there has been little time for rest for the team at TIME Family of Wines. This snowy season has been one of their busiest yet, with the team’s Penticton location temporarily closed for a massive reformation. On the other side of this construction, visitors can expect a wine tasting and culinary experience that will set a new standard for excellence in BC and beyond.
OROLO Restaurant + Cocktail Bar
Founded by one of the pioneering families of the BC wine industry, with a rich history in hospitality, the TIME Family of Wines journey continues with the launch of OROLO, an exciting new restaurant and cocktail bar, designed around providing connections. Connections to and between guests, to the beautiful place the winery team calls home, to special shared moments in time.
Speaking of wonderful connections, the TIME Family of Wines team continues to grow, and has hired Kirk Morrison who joins the team as culinary director. Kirk Morrison will oversee culinary offerings at all locations: OROLO Restaurant + Cocktail Bar, the Chronos Tasting Room in Penticton, and the TIME Family of Wines’ District Wine Village location in Oliver.
Morrison will work closely with OROLO executive chef Damian Cole, where they will collaborate to bring the OROLO vision to life. The OROLO team is committed to bringing expertly crafted beverages, locally sourced ingredients, and memorable experiences together in a stunning new space.
OROLO (named for horology, the study of time) will offer elevated, elegant cuisine in a relaxed environment. The refined atmosphere that marries the echo of a historic theatre with the modern touches of gold and warm wood will allow diners to feel comfortable while enjoying an inspired dining experience. A big part of OROLO’s ethos is the commitment to supporting local farmers, producers, and purveyors, as well as a focus on top quality dry-aged steak offerings.
In another game changing move for the Okanagan dining scene, OROLO has purchased several Dry Agers to aid in their quest to bring a memorable difference in every bite, with a ‘melt-in-your- mouth’ experience.
Side note: for all fans of the much-revered, award-winning TIME burger you can relax, it’s not going anywhere. The tasty Original Burger with its famous house ground chuck & brisket patty, pacific rock cheese, and bacon jam, will be remain on the OROLO menu indefinitely.
Chronos Tasting Room
The TIME Family of Wines portfolio, which includes the Chronos label and the McWatters Collection, will be available to try and buy in Penticton with the opening of the Chronos Tasting Room.
Situated next door to OROLO, visitors can move seamlessly from tasting to dining, or dining to tasting. In keeping with the OROLO experience, visitors can expect an elevated tasting experience at the Chronos Tasting Room. Here they will get to taste and purchase the very best wines BC has to offer from the TIME Family of Wines portfolio, but in a casual, comfortable environment designed to invite tasters to linger and enjoy every moment.
Time spent in both these welcoming spaces, taking part in all that the TIME Family has to offer, will allow people to feel the magic of connections – to the place itself, to local food and wine, to local suppliers and producers, and to each other.
TIME Family of Wines at the District Wine Village
For those who can’t wait until the Penticton reveal, TIME Family of Wines continues to offer tastings in its District Wine Village location in Oliver, BC. This season, with the addition of smll bites to the tasting room menu, visitors can expect an elevated food and wine pairing experience at this location.
The buzzing District Wine Village TIME tasting room offers customers the option to pair abbreviated versions of OROLO dishes with wines from the TIME portfolio. Culinary director Kirk Morrison and executive chef Damian Cole are working on the spring menus.
With tasting opportunities Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm until 4 pm, expect to see and taste new vintages and exciting new food pairings on the weekends. The TIME team also offers private bookings at this location – you can have up to 16 people for an occasion such as wine and cheese tastings, popcorn and Chardonnay, game and card nights, and more.
In short, this lively venue is a must-visit destination. Expect to see increased tasting hours as the days get longer.
